Well the hardware is assembled and running. I will let it run and burn in for the next week before putting it into full service between my network and the rest of the internet. All I can say right now is “bit-barrier lives!!”

As of right now it is running Endiad Firewall CE version 2.1. Version 2.2 is in beta at present but was giving me issues during load and I am not one to trust mission critical applications to beta software. If version 2.2 is released before I place the machine into full service I will likely reload it and test run for another week. While I like Endiad Firewall a lot and trust their work I am not one to jump in head first with out a little test run.

For those who are into that kind of thing some of the hardware data is listed below along with links to text files from the output of a few commands. If you are not a Linux user I imagine you will not be familiar with the data format but if you know anything of hardware I am sure you will understand the data. The motherboard is an all Intel board pulled from an HP system I found near the dumpster in my apartment complex. This is also where the CD-RW and CPU came from. ;)
